Law Enforcement Fails to Work in Good Faith dear Statesman Journal readers:
Here is the link to the Statesman Journal version of the story:
The LAC, appointed by SEN MORRISETTE, consisiting of Medical Marijuana
Advocates and Law Enforcement, to work out differences of opinions, in the
scheme to better make patients into criminals has been smashed by the pull
out of law enforcement. The LAC was not a workable group, with LEO trying to
divest the patients of their affirmative defense. Law Enforcement wants to
maintain a zero tolerance to Medical Canabis and arrest sick people.
The voters of OREGON took patients off the criminal lists when they voted
with compassion for the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program. That issue is
resolved since 1998.
Now we need a program that works, that helps patients and does not leave
them without resouces for their medication.
Many sick and dying patients have caregivers who ask nothing, for a process
that does have some costs involved. The electric bill alone, should not be
loaded onto the back of one who is willing to help with the kindness of
their hearts.
Human suffering has been alleviated by the passage of the original OMMA law.
I respect the voters, and know they will see the TRUTH, and listen to their
hearts when it comes to Measure 33. They would not relish the thought of
their sick mother having to go to the streets to obtain their Cannabis
Medicine.
Law enforcement fails to work in good faith, the Supreme Court is going to
hear the case of Ashcroft vs Raich. They do not want to take sides, or act
in a forthcoming manner, as they wait for that decision. Do not be fooled by
the fence sitting, and accusations of legality for marijuana. This is their
spiel, patients already have legality, to use Medical Cannabis, thank you
very much!!
Sincerely,
