A panel on Marijuana discussion will be held
Wed., 1/12, at 7:30pm in Dyment Lounge of the Walton Complex at the
University of Oregon. This panel is part of the Community
Conversations panels series to stimulate intellectual activity in the
UO residence halls, which the Honors College, Undergraduate Studies,
and Housing are teaming with students to create:

The panels, broadcast later on education access channel 23, generally are
attended by 50-100 students and have 6 people presenting various
perspectives, for 6-8 minutes each, then answering questions from the
floor and sharing refreshments. For this panel they are trying to get
someone from the Eugene Police Department (perhaps Captain Swenson).
They have already the Assoc. Dean of the UO School of Law, Margie
Paris, and expect to have a professor of Counseling and
Psychology, Dan Close, as moderator.
They are seeking people to complete the panel from the cannabis law reform perspective.
They are not looking for a debate situation, but
rather for thought-provoking conversation. this is a topic that the
students are extremely interested in.
