  Information on Tinnitus

Tinnitus - Definition Noise 24 hours a day. (ORG, Info) Tinnitus is noises in the head, not related to any psychiatric condition. The noise can be heard anywhere in the head or in one or both ears.

Imagine a constant ringing, buzzing or whistling in your ears, 24 hours a day. It is called tinnitus. You never get a break. It is always there. Nobody else but you can hear the noise because it does not come from any external source. Although you are the only person who can hear the noise it is not a result of your imagination. Almost all of us experience tinnitus temporarily; perhaps for a few hours after a concert or any other occasion where our ears are subjected to noise.

Tinnitus becomes a problem when this noise persists and/or increases. Normally, the ringing in the ears will disappear, but it may also become permanent. The majority of people who suffer from tinnitus find it very disturbing and uncomfortable. Click > here < for more

Tinnitus - Definition Doctors say cannabis treats Meniere’s disease September 30, 2006 — Mahakal | More good news about cannabis. People suffering from intense vertigo and nausea due to an inner ear problem — a condition of unknown cause and limited susceptibility to conventional medical treatment called Ménière’s disease — find significant improvement from cannabis, according to California doctors.

California doctors routinely approve the use of cannabis by Meniere’s patients who say that it helps ease their symptoms. “Meniere’s causes dizziness, dizziness causes nausea, cannabis relieves nausea,” says David Bearman, MD. “I wouldn’t be surprised if the symptoms caused Mrs. Gee to be a little depressed and of course cannabis helps that, too.”

Robert Sullivan, MD, corroborates: “I’ve issued many recommendations for Meneire’s, as well as tinnitus [ringing in the ears]. It works well enough to make a significant improvement in patients’ lives, i.e., symptoms not gone but much abated so they can function and carry on their daily activities, instead of sitting and suffering. It also aids sleep.” Click > here < for more.

Tinnitus - Definition I've been smoking for nearly two dozen years, mostly to curb the effects of chronic tinnitus (ringing in the ears) long enough to fall asleep at night. My finace is okay with this, but would prefer I pursue MMJ. At her urging, I'm seeking advice on how I might go about that here in Seattle. This is a pretty tolerant city, so I imagine it's possible... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Click > here < for more.

Tinnitus - Definition Doctor's diary: cannabis as medicine - the dilemma Telegraph (UK) February 4th, 2005 Grey-haired Patricia Tabram, in court last week for possessing 240 grams of cannabis – worth £850 – reflects a growing trend of "buyers' clubs". Those with a medicinal need for the drug are banding together to buy it in bulk, with, one assumes, a discount from the supplier.

The difficulty for the police in trying to crack down on those such as Mrs Tabram is that, increasingly, it appears that cannabis may be the only remedy for a range of conditions for which there is no adequate medical treatment. Mrs Tabram finds that cannabis alleviates her tinnitus, while Dr Jonathon Berman of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital reported in a study last year that it can produce "significant improvement" in the most devastating neuropathic pain resistant to all forms of analgesia. It is also widely used by those with MS who find it relieves their symptoms of pain spasm and tremor. visit - http://www.safeaccessnow.org/article.php?id=1752

Oz Greg Re: marijuana, yes or no for tinnitus? | If you are talking about the medical benefits of marijuana for tinnitus, my guess would be that there has been no study done to indicate whether it is beneficial in facilitating habituation or reducing the physiological level of ones tinnitus. But she remains loyal to her beliefs – that cannabis eases her suffering. And she continues to share a table with a small group of close friends who also swear by the wonder of weed. Tinnitus - Definition Jury Acquits Medical Marijuana Grower Posted by FoM on February 02, 2000 at 07:30:32 PT By Scott Moble Source: Calaveras Enterprise A Calaveras County jury on Friday acquitted an Angels Camp man of felony cannabis cultivation charges and charges of possession for sale. However, the jury found William Harrison, a local sculptor, guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Barbara Yook, the Calaveras County deputy district attorney prosecuting the case, declined comment on the verdict. But medical marijuana advocates said they hope the verdict will cool local law enforcement's zeal to prosecute legal users.

"I'm very happy the jury did the right thing," said defense attorney William Logan, adding that his client was growing for his own use rather than running a commercial drug operation. ... Harrison uses marijuana and other drugs to allay the severe pain, nausea, tinnitus and vertigo stemming from a chest infection he contracted a number of years ago, Logan said. visit - http://cannabisnews.com/news/4/thread4558.shtml

" Dear people of the MERCY center,

I live in Belgium and for three years now I’ve been suffering from rather severe tinnitus (constant ringing/hissing in the ears). The cause is unknown, but I suspect it might be nerve damage from a vitamine B12-shortage. In any case, this tinnitus causes a lot of stress, tension, depressionand is just psychologically had to cope with.

I’ve read that marihuana can relieve tinnitus. However, I have also read that marihuana can cause or aggravate tinnitus… My own experiences is that marihuana (used in tea) relieves the stress and tensions, but it seems to worsen the tinnitus. I don’t think it’s because I get more focused on the noise; I think that the noise objectively gets louder.

As you are experts on this subject, I was wondering whether you could help me answer the following questions:

- Do different strains of cannabis have different effects on tinnitus(relief vs. worsening)?

- If so, which strains provide relief for tinnitus?

- What could be the possible cause or mechanism by which cannabis causes or worsens tinnitus in some people? Maybe fluid retention oraccumulation in the ear?

- Could the worsening of tinnitus by cannabis become permanent after prolonged usage? In other words: can cannabis permanently damage the ear or is the worsening just temporary?

Or do you know of people who could help me answer these questions? Especially the first two questions are of interest to me…

Thank you very much… All the best,

FK "
